SLOW WINE CO. TRIBUS 2023: 90 Points
This is a blend of Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewurztraminer from the cool-climate region of Orange & delicately massaged by Winemaker Will Rikard-Bell.
The wine reflects a seamless collaboration of those varietals, in an Alsace-inspired cool climate framework.
The primary fruit profile evokes fresh citrus and green pears/peach. The sweet’n’zingy crisp palate would suit Asian style dishes, curries as well as green salads
SLOW WINE CO 2021 PINOT NOIR: 95 Points
It is multilayered, textural and savoury from the first pour. The fruit profile evolves and twirls on breathing, releasing a generosity of varietal characteristics of dark fruits, cherries, mixed herbs and wafts of tobacco
It delivers depth and integration of flavours supported by subtle French oak (pencil shavings) texture and refreshing cool-climate acid framework. With already 3 years of development, this well massaged Pinot Noir from Winemaker Will Rikard-Bell, is very enjoyable now but will continue to please over the next few years.
SLOW WINE CO RIESLING 2022: 90 Points
The grapes are from the single estate, high elevation, cool-climate Bantry Grove vineyard.
The juice underwent 50% ferment in French oak barriques and 50% in stainless steel tanks.
The monthly lees-stirring results in a toasted brioche textural palate enhanced by fresh jubey citrussy acid grip. Floral, minerally high notes followed by sherbetty palate roundness, lead to an ideal sweet’n’tart crisp balance..an ideal match to grilled seafood.
SLOW WINE CO GEWURZTRAMINER 2021: 93 Points
Upfront aromas of rosewater, Turkish delight, lychees and musk set the taste buds tingling in anticipation.
The palate offers a delicate balance of crisp acid and perceived sweetness. The lees contact component adds a savoury finish, aided and abetted by the 12.8% Alc/Vol afterglow. It’s an enjoyable and refreshing cool climate GT crafted by winemaker Will Rikard-Bell.
